Northside

With rolling hills, plenty of greenery, and even a creek running through it, Northside is a peaceful nabe with only a 15-20 minute commute to the city. The homes here range from conservative colonials to mansions with tons of yard space. With several small lakes and ponds sprinkled throughout, Northside can feel like country club living without leaving the city proper.

Northside Review

The Mount Paran /Northside Community

My neighborhood, Whitewater Creek, is actually a part of the Mount Paran/Northside community where I have lived for over 25 years. This is a quiet neighborhood with a mix of older ranch style homes, new luxury homes and gated estates. There are excellent public and private schools located in the neighborhood or just a short drive away.

What’s awesome

The dense tree canopy that shades the entire area.

What’s not so awesome

City of Atlanta taxes.

Bueller? Bueller?

Do you remember where Ferris lived in “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”?

That’s this nabe. Well not literally, but it looks like it.

Nestled next the I-75 on the west side of town, Northside is a wooded burb with several large homes, churches, and good schools. There’s little beyond that.

What’s awesome

20 minutes from the city, family friendly

What’s not so awesome

little culture

residential area close to interstate & river

Northside/Mount Paran is as far north as you can get before you reach Sandy SpringsITP. Mount Paran Road is the main way through here, also an exit on 75 so it’s not hard to reach.

It’s entirely a residential area, filled with very nice houses, as usual for northern Buckhead neighborhoods out this way.

The Chattahoochee River is not far away from the area, and despite the fact it’s all residential, it’s not too far to shops and restaurants. It’s probably easier to get to things in Sandy Springs or Vinings, unless you’re willing to travel a bit farther, but you’re probably this far north to not have to go to Atlanta proper.
